Tasting- Menage a Trois Red Blend 2018

Image
My readers it is not even CLOSE to over. We have ANOTHER review this week but for a different style of wine!!! Reds. We love red.  Disclaimer: As much as  I love threesomes this is actually the wine.  Name: Menage a Trois Red Blend 2018 Vintage: 2018 Price: $8 Variety of Grape:  Blend: 48% Zinfandel, 37% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon Shop/Winery Critic Review:  This Ménage à Trois exposes the fresh, ripe, jam like fruit that is the calling card of California wine. Forward, silky and soft, this delicious dalliance makes the perfect accompaniment for grilled meats and chicken. Specific Reviews: Starting with the smell, it is a mix of heavy and light probably because it is a blend. The primary aroma was some berry, it was a darker berry that I was smelling. Then for the initial taste, it was full bodied and very thick in a way. It had wonderful fruity/ berry flavors. (p30-36 Wine Folly) My Review: This was a great wine, I have been drinking it all week and I think I could drink it for a

Tasting- Chateau Souverain Chardonnay 2018

Image
Hello my fellow readers.  You will not believe the week of drinking that I had! Going through the bottle and a half of wine I went through this week was a pretty easy task. I would go to the gym, have an intense workout, and then when I came back I would drink a glass or 2. But this did lead to some pretty interesting finds and new exotic flavors to experience! Name: Chateau Souverain, Chardonnay 2018, California Cost: $17 Variety of Grapes: Chardonnay Shop/Wine Review:  Chateau Souverain Chardonnay has inviting aromas of roasted pears, lemon citrus and subtle baking spice with elegant layers of pineapple and crème brûlée flavors. This full-bodied Chardonnay offers a plush texture and balanced acidity with a long, flavorful finish. Specific Flavors: So this wine was very light, and through the smell I am getting hints of pear and something else I cannot place but I know for sure through page 31 of the Wine Folly text that it is indeed tropical. I cannot place the secondary aroma becau

Tasting- Menage a Trois Lavish Merlot

Image
Wine: Menage a Trois Lavish Merlot California, 2018 Vinted and Bottled by Folie A Deux Winery ,St.Helena and Lodi , CA Price: ~$18 (came as part of a variety pack from Costco) Variety of Grapes in This Wine: Merlot, but also hints of syrah, petit syrah and petit verdot 4) Shop/wine critic/winery review of the wine  Lavish is a luxurious, over the top expression of Merlot, offering a truly sensual experience. From its deep ruby red color and its alluring blueberry cordial fragrance, Lavish promises to be much more than a typical Merlot. On the palate, ripe blueberries and juicy black plums flirt recklessly with dark cocoa and vanilla notes before being swept up in a chocolaty finish. Our winemakers chose grapes from California’s Central and North Coast appellations, known for producing grapes with rich flavors and aromas. The wine is fermented on French and American oak to round out the flavors and mouthfeel. 5) References of specific flavors, aromas, and grape varietal characteristic

Tasting-Bay Bridge- White Zinfandel

Image
Bay Bridge- American White Zinfandel  Vinted & Bottled by Bay Bridge Vineyards  Livermore & Ripon, California Variety of Grapes: Petit Syrah grapes were most predominantly used in this wine  4.Shop critic/Review  This wine satisfies with pleasing notes of licorice, spice and pepper. 5.Review Using Wine Folly  This wine has a very sour smell. I get notes of sour grapes for the primary smell, but for the secondary notes I am definitely getting notes of fermented fruits. This wine was a pale pink/orange color which I have never seen a wine being. There are hints of licorice and spice which indicates that this wine may have been preserved in oak caskets. It was a very light wine, not full-bodied and was sweet.(pgs 30-36) 6. My personal Review  I personally did not enjoy this wine, but that's the price you pay when you pay $3 for the bottle. Furthermore, I did not like the syrupy taste of this wine(associated with the licorice) and overall was not a great fan. This wine may be

Bottoms Up!-First Wine Post

Hello, this is the blog for Advaith Warrier. From now on it shall be referred to as Wines for Warrier cause that's just how I like to roll. Now, I have the opportunity this semester to create a wine blog for you cats, so you can sit there and read it and enjoy it. I will be drinking and sampling many many wines throughout the semester and I will post my reviews, feelings and general perception of that wine on the blog. I will most likely drink the wine and write the review at the same time, to make sure that all my observations are current and not influenced by memory.  I have a lot of experience of drinking wine, I mean chugging it. Fair to say, my taste profile is limited because I have not tasted all the wines while chugging them, as one would say "I just try to get it down". Sometimes its just about getting where you're going because the journey isn't fun. Anyway, I have drank some good wines when I went to a wine tasting at the local wine bar at Kro-Bar(Krog
